What is UPK

Universal Preschool (UPK) Program is for licensed community-based, school-based or home-based preschool setting. All children who are four years old by October 1 are eligible for 15 hours of preschool education.

Families

In Broomfield, we have several different options for families. We have stand alone preschools, child care centers and even some family child care homes that are participating in UPK. Follow this link to see what is available in Broomfield for your 4 year old.

Many UPK sites will offer full day care to support working families. The UPK program will offset costs to full day child care, but will only offset the 15 hours per week.

Providers

Early Childhood Education providers can register their site to accept families for UPK. BECC will be able to support you with implementation. As a provider, you designate the number of spots available for UPK. Sign up to be a UPK provider here.

BECC is here to help.

BECC is the Local Coordianting Organization for UPK in Broomfield. We work in partnership with our local, independent Early Childhood Educators (licensed child care sites) to support UPK implementation and assisting families find their preferred educational spot.
